Xbox 360 Dashboard Update

So Microsoft made a statement last week about how the new Xbox Dashboard update would enable, among other things, background downloading, music not ending when ending a game and some other minor isues. Where the hell is the Dashboard update that was promised for the end of last week?

Ok Microsoft. Where the hell is the Dashboard update that was promised for the end of last week? Its Monday now and I still can’t download multiple items in the background…

Nokia E62 Business Phone for Cingular

It should also sport a wide range of wireless email services, including: Good, MS Direct Push, Blackberry Connect (which I demoed on the Nokia 9300 and wasn’t too impressed with) an of course ExpressMail (powered by Seven).

All I have to say is, ABOUT FREAKING TIME. This phone was announced in 2005 and I saw a live version at CES in January, but it has sorta fallen off the radar since. Except for the FCC Approval, no news until today. Engadget is reporting that the Nokia Blackberry killer will be hitting states side soon. The device will supposedly not feature UMTS or Wifi (in the Cingular flavor), which is lame, but expected. It should also sport a wide range of wireless email services, including: Good, MS Direct Push, Blackberry Connect (which I demoed on the Nokia 9300 and wasn’t too impressed with) an of course ExpressMail (powered by Seven). One really cool thing about this phone though is that apparently there is a USB hardware profile to support Mass Storage device. Cant wait!

New Kind of Traffic Signal for Stop Lights

Oakland County, Michigan will be seeing some new left turn traffic lights in the upcoming years. Rather than flashing the red to allow left hand turn motorists to yield and turn, the flashing yellow will indicate that “motorists are allowed to turn left when available gaps in oncoming traffic are present”.

Oakland County, Michigan will be seeing some new left turn traffic lights in the upcoming years. These new lights will feature 4 lights, instead of the current 3 light models. Rather than flashing the red to allow left hand turn motorists to yield and turn, the flashing yellow will indicate that “motorists are allowed to turn left when available gaps in oncoming traffic are present”. Working in Bloomfield Township, I have seen a few intersections that have new funny lights installed, but not hanging and activated. Looks like these are what they are. Guess it’s better, but the stoplight just looks so funny!

Now, I’m no accountant, but I do know what GAAP is and this seems really fishy to me. According to MSNBC, on May 5, 2006, the president signed a memo granting John Negroponte the authority to excuse publicly traded companies from their usual accounting and securities obligations. Apparently section 13[b][3][A] of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 amendment allows for this. Examples of these kind of obligations include, but are not limited to:

  • Keeping accurate books, records and accounts
  • Maintaining systems of internal controls
