Radio Station Speeds Up Tracks

Radio Version: Album Version: Crossover Version (Left Track is the Radio Version, Right Track is the Album Version): I also created a waveform comparison below. The first loop is synced up, but notice on the radio version (on the bottom) that each loop starts before the same loop on the album.

Something that has always bothered me about listening to radio is that it seemed like the songs were always sped up. Well I was in the car a few days ago and decided to check for myself. I recorded the end of the Justin Timberlake song “What Goes Around Comes Around” and have cued up the same part of the actual album version below. Take a listen for yourself. Notice how the pitch is even different!

McCain Is Old

In an interview: Reporter: “Should U.S. taxpayer money go to places like Africa to fund contraception to prevent AIDS?” Brian, would you find out what my position is on contraception – I’m sure I’m opposed to government spending on it, I’m sure I support the president’s policies on it.”

In an interview:
Reporter: “Should U.S. taxpayer money go to places like Africa to fund contraception to prevent AIDS?”

Mr. McCain: “Well I think it’s a combination. The guy I really respect on this is Dr. Coburn. He believes – and I was just reading the thing he wrote– that you should do what you can to encourage abstinence where there is going to be sexual activity. Where that doesn’t succeed, than he thinks that we should employ contraceptives as well. But I agree with him that the first priority is on abstinence. I look to people like Dr. Coburn. I’m not very wise on it.”

Q: “What about grants for sex education in the United States? Should they include instructions about using contraceptives? Or should it be Bush’s policy, which is just abstinence?”

Mr. McCain: (Long pause) “Ahhh. I think I support the president’s policy.”

Q: “So no contraception, no counseling on contraception. Just abstinence. Do you think contraceptives help stop the spread of HIV?”

Mr. McCain: (Long pause) “You’ve stumped me.”

but it gets even better

Q: “I mean, I think you’d probably agree it [contraception] probably does help stop it [HIV]?” (brackets added)

Mr. McCain: (Laughs) “Are we on the Straight Talk express? I’m not informed enough on it. Let me find out. You know, I’m sure I’ve taken a position on it on the past. I have to find out what my position was. Brian, would you find out what my position is on contraception – I’m sure I’m opposed to government spending on it, I’m sure I support the president’s policies on it.”

Windows Vista Ultimate – Limited Edition

Well I know it may sound really stupid, but I think it might be really cool to buy this Windows Vista Limited Edition. Aside from the blatant copies from Apple OS X and the more hardware intense requirements, the operating system will grow into what XP is today, the standard Microsoft operating system.


Well I know it may sound really stupid, but I think it might be really cool to buy this Windows Vista Limited Edition. I mean, yeah I know it’s Windows, but on that same note, it’s Windows. Bill Gates has announced that he will be stepping down as Chief Software Architect at Microsoft so this would be the last operating system released under his watch. And for what it’s worth, it’s not that bad an OS. Aside from the blatant copies from Apple OS X and the more hardware intense requirements, the operating system will grow into what XP is today, the standard Microsoft operating system. $259 really isn’t that bad to own a piece of history like this.
